Carvin Guitars‎ > ‎

I'm sorry, this guitar is not for sale.
This  is my beloved Carvin SH275B(SH65B). Serial number #106559

This guitar came up on Carvin's website and I just could not resist. It essentially brand new (literally just a few hours of playing time) and the Koa body looks so unique that you're sure to gain the attention of the audience.  Besides that, it really plays unbelieveably smooth.

The action is fast and soft, the neck has glossy smooth feel, and the body is in short: Stunning. This particular Koa stands out and has a set neck. The 22-fret Rosewood fretboard with Abalone inlays give this guitar a level of craftsmanship unparalleled in the guitar industry.

This guitar has all the Carvin electronics including– Carvin humbuckers, piezo, and 13 pin output. In addition, it has a bigsby giving the player the ability to have a unique vibrato and sustaining sound.

I can't say enough of about this Koa body. It looks amazing at all angles, and the weight of the insturment is so well balanced that it is a great guitar to play for an extended period of time.

This guitar has been played, but always in a smoke-free, pet-free studio. It has never been gigged or taken out of the studio for any reason. It is defintely in what I would consider to be "Like New" condition.  Of course it has all Carvin case candy, etc.  That is why it is fair to call her  "Like New” – after all, nearly any guitar in a music store has been played, perhaps quite a bit.
This guitar is perhaps one of my favorites in my collection, and for good reason.

Carvin is pleased to announce another new Custom Shop guitar, the SH275 semi-hollow synth-access acoustic electric. Like our groundbreaking NS1 synth access classical and our popular SH575 semi-hollow carved top synth access guitar, the SH275 has the addition of the acclaimed Graph Tech™ Synth Access electronics. Simply connect a guitar synth of your choice and you'll be adding orchestras, flutes and virtually any instrument sound to your electric guitar tone. This unique design gives you acoustic, electric and synth capabilities all in one instrument! This new model is based on our AE185 solid-body electric, which debuted in 1994, and has been one of our most popular models. However, the SH275 features our M-Bridge instead of a standard acoustic bridge, which provides additional sustain because the strings are fed through the body, as well as a 22-fret set-neck, versus the AE185's 24-fret neck-through design. The SH275 is a unique instrument, with standard features and options not available on similarly-styled instruments, and represents over 60 years of experience that Carvin has in building the highest quality, USA-made instruments that are suitable for all playing styles at any level. With hundreds of available options, you can build your SH275 exactly the way you want it, and have an instrument that you'll be proud to play and own for years to come. The SH275 is constructed to the highest possible standards of quality and playability by Carvin's Custom Shop.

The SH275 has a standard 25" scale ebony fingerboard with white pearl dot block inlays, a 12" radius and 22 medium-jumbo nickel frets. Carvin offers many fingerboard options - more options than most manufactures offer for their entire guitar lines. You can choose from rosewood, maple or birdseye maple fingerboards; dot, diamond or block inlays in mother-of-pearl or genuine abalone; and fingerboard radii of 10" or 14". Carvin also offers a number of fretwire options, including jumbo, low-wide and stainless steel. Carvin's "Rapid Play" low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the smooth neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 22nd fret.

Carvin's M-Bridge is standard, which consists of a Tune-O-Matic piezo bridge with the strings fed through the body, eliminating the need for a tailpiece, and providing superior sustain. You can also choose an optional Bigsby vibrato in polished aluminum (silver) or gold, for classic looks and great vibrato tone. Sperzel™ locking tuners ensure you'll stay in tune no matter what your playing style is. Standard hardware is chrome, and you can upgrade to black or gold. If you want to really dress up your SH275, add our 24K gold plated headstock logo for just the right touch of class. You can personalize your SH275 with an engraved truss rod cover, adding to the uniqueness of the instrument.

Carvin's Classic Series C22 humbucking pickups are standard on the SH275. These pickups are custom wound with vintage plain enamel wire that brings out the harmonically rich tone and sustain of the guitar, and also have 11 polepieces per coil. Standard pickups have black coils and bezels, but any combination of black or cream coils and bezels are available. There are many other pickup options available, including our M22 series and H22 series humbuckers. You can also add our new metal-covered S22 humbuckers, which will match your hardware selection, and the standard black bezels can be upgraded to cream. Electronics consist of a master volume and tone control, with a 3-way pickup selector located on the upper bout. The push-pull tone control doubles as a coil splitter, allowing dual to single coil operation on the S22 pickups. The Graph Tech™ Synth Access Module consists of stacked concentric volume for MIDI & piezo, stacked concentric mid cut/boost and mid sweep, and stacked concentric bass & treble cut/boost. A mini-switch allows scrolling through MIDI patches. Outputs include dual 1/4" jacks (one for humbuckers, one for piezo) and a 13-pin Hexaphonic MIDI- compatible output, which is compatible with controllers such as the Roland GR33™, VG88™ and VBass™, Roland GI-10™, Axon 100™ and others.
