Carvin Guitars‎ > ‎

I'm sorry, this guitar is not for sale.
Here is my Carvin Custom Shop CT324 with a Mahogany body. Serial #96239.

As you can probably tell, this is a unique insturment among my guitar collection. It is a players guitar, with nothing fancy (no MIDI or Piezo) other than the amazing tone and feel achieved by this solid Mahogany tung-oiled finish.

This guitar is in "New" condition, and has always been kept in a clean, dry, smoke-free, pet-free studio environment.

It has never been gigged or taken out of the studio. I've played this guitar a few times and every time I do, it just makes me realize how amazing these Carvin guitars actually are.

I bought this guitar direct from Carvin in 2010. As you may know, Carvin has a direct purchase model from their custom shop: you tell them what you want, and in 8 weeks or so you will have your guitar.

The evolution of Carvin's California Carved Top Series continues with the introduction of the new 24-fret CT324. For years, customers have asked for a 24-fret versions of our popular CT Series Carved Top guitars, and Carvin is pleased to respond to these requests with this new model. It's loaded with features usually only found on guitars twice it's price, but because we sell direct to you, you can own a custom-made, hand-built guitar without the custom-made, hand-built price. And with hundreds of Custom Shop options, you can order your CT324 exactly the way you want it, and be the proud owner of a totally unique instrument that will last a lifetime.

Carvin uses hand selected genuine mahogany for the body and the neck, which adds warmth and accentuates the low and mid-range tone of the instrument. Mahogany is considered to be a classic tone wood, and is denser and heavier than alder, but lighter than maple. The carved top is beautifully sculpted, adding to the overall look of the instrument. The mahogany headstock is adorned with a 24K gold plated Carvin logo, for just the right touch of class. You can choose from a wide assortment of standard solid finishes, translucent stains, metallic solid colors and bursts so that your CT324 suits your personal tastes. Unlike the CT4 and CT6, the CT324 has the finish applied over the entire instrument, including the back.

The mahogany set-neck of the CT324 features Carvin's "Rapid Play" low action neck, which assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the sleek set-in neck heel and lower body cutout allow easy uninhibited access at the 24th fret. The standard 25" scale, 12" radius fingerboard is ebony with abalone dot inlays, and other fingerboard woods, such as rosewood, maple and birdseye maple are available. You also can choose from an assortment of inlays made from genuine abalone or mother-of-pearl, in diamonds or blocks. Standard frets are medium-jumbo nickel, with stainless steel, jumbo and low-wide frets optional.

Carvin's "M" bridge is standard, with fully-adjustable tune-o-matic bridge and strings fed through the body for additional sustain. You can also select a Wilkinson tremolo, or a genuine Floyd Rose tremolo, with or without locking nut. Sperzel™ locking tuners ensure your CT324 will stay in tune, regardless of your bridge selection or playing style. Hardware is chrome, with black or gold hardware optional.

Electronics consist of a single volume and tone control, with a 3-way pickup selector. The tone control doubles as a push/pull coil splitter, which doubles the effective range of the pickups. Carvin's standard classic C22 humbuckers are custom wound with vintage plain enamel wire which helps bring out the harmonically rich tone and sustain of this fine instrument. For added warmth, try Carvin's new S22 Series metal covered pickups. You can also choose from Carvin's M22 Series or Holdsworth H22 Series pickups. Standard pickups have black coils and bezels, but white or cream coils are also offered, which can combined in assorted combinations with black or cream coils.
